MARCH 6, 2020 - ALAMANCE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, 8:30 - 2:00, SPONSORED BY THE SOCIAL AND BEHAVORIAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT, this event, primarily for middle school students will have a variety of activities related to suffrage and civics education. There will be an election for a "Suffrage President" with Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel campaigning in costume all day. A voting experience will be created using an "official" booth and those who vote will receive an "I Voted" sticker. Approximately 1,000 students are expected to attend.
APRIL 18, 2020 - CHARLOTTE HAWKINS BROWN HISTORIC SITE, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM IN ADDITION TO THE EXHIBIT, THERE WILL BE HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON NEGRO WOMEN WILL HAVE A READ-IN FROM 12:00 - 2:00 TO HIGHLIGHT VOICES OF WOMEN OF COLOR.
JULY 25, 2020 - BENNETT COLLEGE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STATEWIDE CONFERENCE "WHEN WOMEN GATHER: UNITY FOR POSITIVE CHANGE" PLANNED BY A COALITION OF ORGANIZATIONS (NC NOW, ERA Alliance, Women's Forum NC, AAUW, Council of Churches, Paulie Murray Center, representative from UNC-G History Department, LWVNC, Women NC, NC Council for Women and Youth, Women Advance NC). THE CONCEPT OF RECONCILIATION WILL BE WOVEN INTO ALL PARTS OF THE EVENT. REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 8:15 - $25 REGISTRATION FEE
SEPTEMBER 26, 2020 CASWELL COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm - THE EXHIBIT AND PROGRAMS AT THE LIBRARY WILL BE A PART OF THE ANNUAL CASWELL COUNTY HOEDOWN DAY ON THE COURTHOUSE SQUARE
The League of Women of the Piedmont Triad (LWVPT) will be conducting voter registration on April 18 and September 26 and assisting other Leagues on July 25.
